SUMMER COURSE AND CONFERENCE

About

This interdisciplinary Academic Course and Conference brings together scholars, technologists, and contemplative practitioners to explore the ethical, philosophical, and social implications of AI and accelerating techno-scientific progress.

Through dialogue, debate, and reflection, we ask how Buddhist traditions can help guide these transformations wisely.

Learning Environment

Hosted at Gomde in Austria, the program combines academic rigour with the focused atmosphere of a contemplative retreat. Surrounded by nature and held within an active Buddhist practice community, Gomde offers a setting that supports both intellectual depth and personal reflection.

The center provides dedicated spaces for study, dialogue, and meditation, creating an environment where sustained attention and meaningful exchange can unfold naturally. Participants share meals, informal conversations, and moments of quiet practice, allowing the learning process to extend beyond the lecture hall.

This unique context fosters dialogue among students, researchers, professionals, and scholars working at the intersection of Buddhism and AI — grounding inquiry not only in theory, but in lived contemplative experience.
